A Powerful Musical addressing the changing dynamics of family
– Jacobs Productions in Partnership with Trinity City of Praise Inc, and the African American Family Institute, presents an inspiring musical “10 BOYS AND ONE GIRL”, A Story of a family, who survives the trauma of separation and brokenness and finds hope through faith, Resilience, and Love. The show features original R&B and gospel music, comedic and powerful moving entertainment that will inspire hope for all families.
The show will be presented on Saturday, September 18, 2021, at the David A. Straz, Jr. Center for the Performing Arts, 1010 N Macinnes Pl, Tampa, Florida, 33602. There will be two performances a 2:00pm matinee and an evening performance at 7:30pm. General seating $25.00 and VIP seating $50.00
This theatrical performance will be Directed by the extraordinary talent, Nate Jacobs, Founder/Artistic Director of Westcoast Black Theatre Troupe located in Sarasota Florida. “Ten Boys and One Girl”, tells the story of a real family, dealing with real issues, in a real world. The show promises to be a ray of inspiration, hope, and encouragement.
Visionary Dr. Kennedy E. Jacobs Sr., Adjunct Professor, Bethune-Cookman University, Senior Pastor, Trinity City of Praise, and founder of the African American Family Institute, seeks to drive home the urgency of family renewal. His theme: “Family Strong”, stems from his academic work, and Doctoral dissertation, “Changing Family Dynamics Through Education”, dealing with the dilemma within urban communities as it relates to children at risk due to decaying family dynamics.
“You pray for rain, you gotta deal with the mud too. That is part of it,” says American Actor Denzel Washington. Family can get muddy at times, but with love, forgiveness, faith, and resilience, family can become STRONG!!!
